This resort is located in the middle of the Bilgiri Rangaswami sanctuary at Kasad Gudi. The nearest airport is Bangalore. The resort is easily accessible by road being situated at a distance of just 225 km from Bangalore, 90 km from Mysore and 245 km from Ooty. The greenery of the deciduous, evergreen and grassland forests is at its best from June to November. Even though you will get to see the animals and listen to the sweet song of the birds at all times of the year but the best time to sight all of them is from June to October. Imagine being enveloped by the lush green of the forests in this hilly region while exploring the wildlife.

Tents

The B.R.Hills Wildlife Resort gives you many options. You can choose to live in the large hunting bungalow which was once owned by the Maharaja of Mysore. These rooms are furnished with modern toilets. A total of about 15 tourists can live in this bungalow at the same time. There are many ethnic huts on stilts which are adequately furnished and have a bathroom attached to it which can be an ideal place for those who want to get a distinctive taste of that kind of life. Tents are also available for those who want to live in greater proximity to nature. There are a total of 8 permanent twin bed tents with modern toilet facilities. There is no electricity in the B.R.Hills Wildlife resort. Electricity is not provided in the tents and the ethnic huts. However the hunting lodge gets electricity from 7pm to 10.30 p.m. But when the place gets illuminated by the lanterns the atmosphere becomes all the more enchanting.

Dining

B.R.Hills Wildlife Resort provides you with a heavy lunch to re-energize you after you have explored the forests. What is very interesting is that dinner is served to you when you are warming yourself up sitting around the campfire at the Gol Ghar. The Gol Ghar is a bar cum multi-cuisine restaurant which serves deliciously cooked meals. You will also get the rare opportunity to get a taste of the fresh honey collected by the Solga Tribals directly from the honeycomb when you are out penetrating the interiors of the forests.

Activities

A Jungle Safari either in a jeep or on an elephant back. There is every possibility that you will get to spot several wild animals like panthers, tigers, deers, bison, wild boar, barking deer, and porcupine. A whole herd of elephants may pass in front of your eyes. Nature lovers can utilize their time very effectively by watching over 200 species of birds. Mentions worthy among them are the racket tailed drongo, hill Myna, large Indian parakeet, crested serpent eagle, chestnut bellied nuthatch.

Bannerghatta Nature Camp

Bannerghatta Nature Camp has eight, neatly laid, luxurious, tented cottages – twin-bedded, Swiss tents with attached bathrooms. The camp has recently address two stilted log-huts to its accommodation. These huts are made of locally available logs and other material. With attached baths, these huts are well appointed and comfortable in every way. The Camp also has a tidy dormitory that can accommodate about 32 adults. This dormitory has bathrooms that need to be shared by the occupants.

From this point, the National Park is about 20 km (40 min drive) away and easy to find with many direction boards enroute.

Resort Facilities

The Camp has a conference hall, which can accommodate about 30 people, theatre style. The camp also has open-to-sides, dining area called the Gol Ghar, a signature design component of Jungle Lodges and Resorts. The Gol Ghar gives guests an experience that is very close to nature. Sometimes, the resident deer and sambar come very close to the Gol Ghar while guests dine.

Riverine Woods Resort in Jim Corbett, earlier known as Van Ghat River Lodge was established in 2003. A fishing and wildlife conservation lodge was set up on the bank of the Ramganga River near the Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve in Uttaranchal, Northern India. The resort, fully aware of its surroundings and responsibilities to the community, has provided employment opportunities for a number of local people, and through this arrangement, has established some of the best managed Mahseer fishing beats in the state. As a direct consequence of the improved fish stocks, the surrounding ecosystem has dramatically improved, with the return of otters and turtles - creatures which have not been seen for some years. The resort officially opened in November 2005, comprises of five cottages of locally sourced materials, and is able to provide a comprehensive outdoor orientated experience for visitors, whilst at the same time offering the opportunity to find complete tranquillity and seclusion.
