Uttarakhand government to restart Char Dham yatra, tourism activities from June 8 in a calibrated manner

In an effort to boost the economy, the Uttarakhand government plans on reviving tourism and launch the Char Dham Yatra gradually from June 8. The administration is preparing to launch the Char Dham Yatra, but in a limited way, permitting only certain individuals in light of the pandemic, said Madan Kaushik, Cabinet Minister and government spokesperson. Since the Char Dham Yatra and tourism are essentially the two pillars of our economy, we will also gradually resume those activities.

In an effort to progressively reopen the nation after being placed under lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Center's most recent regulations enabled religious institutions to reopen after June 8 and free inter-state travel for citizens.
