Arrive Delhi

Arrive at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, meet & greet with Traditional Indian welcome. Transfer to the hotel.


Delhi stands as the capital of Modern India. Here you can see the mingling of the Old and New India, the ancient and the modern. Delhi is made up of seven ancient cities, spanning the period from the 11th to 20th centuries. Delhi has seen the rise and fall of many emperors, which have left behind a plethora of monuments that commemorate the grandeur and glory of bygone ages. Very few cities in the world can express such a profusion of architectural styles. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Delhi

After breakfast visit Old Delhi. It was an ancient walled city. Mughal Emperor Shah Jehan in 1650 switched the Mughal capital from Agra to Delhi. Shah Jehan possessing an exquisite talent, especially in architecture, created the seventh city and in the process brought about Delhi's glorious renaissance. Here you will see Red Fort, the most opulent Fort and Palace of the Mughal Empire. The fort is Shah Jehan's symbol of power and elegance, built behind red sandstone walls. Its main gate (Lahore Gate) faces Chandni Chowk, the perpetually congested avenue heading west from the Red Fort, is filled with twisting lanes, small streets and crowded bazaars. If you peer through a portico you may see a man getting shaved, silver being weighed, or any other conceivable form of intense commerce.

In the afternoon, visit New Delhi. It was designed and built by the British in the 1920's-it's a city of wide boulevards impressive Government buildings, green parks and gardens. In 1911 King George V announced the transfer of the capital from Calcutta to Delhi. The King's architects, Lutyens and Baker, set in motion the Design and construction of Delhi's eight cities - New Delhi. Lutyens designed an "Imperial City" having palatial-sized buildings set amid broad tree-lined avenues punctuated by Mughal style gardens, complete with fountains and shallow pools. It took 20 years to complete this immense undertaking only to have the British pack up and relinquish the subcontinent in 1947. You will visit two monuments from Delhi's past - Humayun's Tomb and Qutub Minar. drive pass through the Raisina Hill, ceremonial avenue past the imposing India Gate, Government Buildings, President House and Parliament House. Also visit Sikh Gurudwara Bangla Sahib to see the worship etc. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Delhi - Jaisalmer

After breakfast, transfer to airport to board the flight for Jaisalmer. Upon arrival meet and great by our repsentative and transfer to the hotel.


Jaisalmer - Jaisalmer, the ancient citadel on the Caravan route linking India with Persia, Arabia and The Mediterranean. This architectural in the 12th Century by Jaisal a Bhatti Prince. Located in the heart of the Thar desert. Jaisalmer is renowned for its intricately carved & chiseled Haveli’s (Mansions), which illustrate superb. Rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Jaisalmer - Pohar 18 kms / 30 mins

After breakfast, proceed for the half day city tour of Jaisalmer. Visit Jaisalmer Fort. Afterwards visit Gadisar Lake & large houses of the merchant called Havelies, some of them dating to the Premediaval Patwon Ki Haveli, Salim Shah Haveli and Nathamal Ki Haveli with their intricately carved screens on the facades and the typical traditional architecture. Also visit Jain temples.


After the city tour of Jaisalmer, you will go to the heart of the desert, 28 km from Jaisalmer for an amazing experience. You will live to the rhythm of the desert in a guest house made of small traditional huts. Free lunch & dinner and overnight at the desert homestay.

Pohar

Breakfast at the inhabitant. Your guest house is an atypical place that promotes ethical tourism and solidarity. You will be invited to share the daily life of a traditional desert farm:


  • Preparing your meals on a real fire
  • Taking care of animals (camels, goats)
  • Observing wild animals and their footprints
  • Dining around a fire while listening to desert songs sung by local tribes.

Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Salawas 284 kms / 5 hrs

Breakfast at the inhabitant. Depart for Jodhpur- it is known as Blue City – because of many blue houses that can be seen from the ramparts of the fort. Originally this color was reserved for Brahmins. Jodhpur the great Indian Desert, sites on sand stone hill surrounded by a strong wall, approximately 6 miles long with 7 entry gates.


In the afternoon, proceed for the sightseeing of the city. It includes visit to Meharangarh Fort, drive through the old city and past the Clock Tower near the largest spice bazaar in the sub-continent, then visit Jaswant Thada Cenotaph, the royal cremation site and then proceed to see the most magnificent, modern 20th century Palace, the Umaid Bhavan Palace and its museum – a treasure trove.


After visit of Jodhpur, depart for Salawas village, which will serve you as a base to discover the Bishnese territories. Lunch and dinner free.


Bishnoi Village Safari - A memorable outing in visit various traditional villages seeing local handicrafts viz. stone makers, pottery, hand weaving and also men in their traditional attire, women clad with ancestral silver Jewellery, etc. Overnight at the village homestay.

Salawas

Breakfast at the inhabitant. Departure for the Bishnois lands with your local guide who is none other than your host. You will meet the Bishnoi people, protector of nature. The doctrine of this community is based on respect for all forms of life, from trees to animals. You will understand their lifestyle by participating in their tasks, opportunity for many exchanges and sharing.

You will go for a walk in the villages near Salawas, where, despite the harsh climate, the reception is of a rare sweetness. Lunch and dinner free. Overnight at the village homestay.

Salawas - Ranakpur - Udaipur 244 kms / 5 hrs

Breakfast at the inhabitant. Depart early for Udaipur, en route visit Ranakpur – one of the biggest and most important Jain temples, it is one of the five holy sites for the Jains. The main temple in the complex is “Chaumukha temple” or the four-faced temple dedicated to Adhinathji and built in the 15th century. It has 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars, all of which are different from each other. The Surya Narayana temple and the other Jain temples in the complex are also worth visiting. The magic of light & shade is really awe- inspiring.

Our drive continues to Udaipur – the “Romantic City of Lakes” is perhaps the most romantic and beautiful cities of India. In contrast to its desert neighborhood it stands out with an enchanting image of white marble palaces, placid blue lakes, gardens and temples surrounded by hills and mountains. It was founded by Maharana Udai Singh in 1559 A.D. on the shored of Lake Pichola. Lunch and dinner free. Overnight at the homestay in the heights of Udaipur, in the heart of the Aravallis mountains.

Udaipur

Today proceed for the sightseeing of Udaipur, which includes The City Palace – this is the largest palace complex in Rajasthan, construction of which was started by Udai Singh. This white marble architectural marvel, standing majestically on a hill is surrounded by crenellated walls. This huge edifice 30.4 meters high and 244 meters long was added on to, by later rulers, but the additions are so well planned and integrated, it is difficult to believe that it was not conceived as complete structure, then visit Sahelion-ki-Bari or “Garden of the Maids of Honour” was laid out for a group of forty-eight young women attendants who accompanied a princess to Udaipur as part of dowry, Partap Smarak- A memorial to the legendary warrior Rana Pratap, Bhartiya Lok Mandal Museum – a museum of folk arts, it displays a rich collection of folk musical instruments and paintings. Rest of the day is at leisure.


Then enjoy boat trip on Lake Pichola. Free time to walk in the bazaar, famous for these silver jewels. Lunch and dinner free. Overnight at the homestay in the Aravallis mountains.

Udaipur

Breakfast at the inhabitant. During this day, you will enjoy your accommodation and its  environment. It is a lively farm with many animals (horses, cows and goats), lush fields with a variety of crops and many fruit trees. It is an ecological farm that uses no pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Solar panels provide electricity for hot water and light. This farm is especially an excellent starting point for walks in the neighboring villages. It is also a great place for birdwatchers.

On horseback, you will go for a walk on the paths that follow the ridges or go down in the valley through villages and cultures, punctuated with lakes and granite hills.

A discovery of UDAIPUR surroundings, far from the chaos of cities. Your vehicle will remain at your disposal if you wish to go to Udaipur. Lunch and dinner free. Overnight at the homestay.

Udaipur - Delhi

Breakfast at the inhabitant. Morning is free, later transfer to the airport to board the flight for Delhi. Upon arrival, check into the Aerocity hotel near the airport. Overnight at the hotel.

Delhi

After breakfast, say good bye to this fascinating tour & transfer to the airport to board the flight for onward destination.
