Afternoon visit Lalbagh Botanical garden, Mysore Arts and Crafts centre, Tipu Sultan’s palace and Bull temple – one of the oldest temple built in 16th century and the colourful and bustling markets. After breakfast drive to Mysore. Upon arrival, check into the hotel.Mysore is a beautiful city of stately palaces, gardens, parks and museums. Today your tour of Mysore includes visit to Mysore palace, Chamundi hill, and the colourful and aromatic spice market. At Chamundi hill, you will find Nandi, a monolithic image of Shiva's Bull, which is always garlanded with flowers and held in high esteem by Hindus. Your afternoon is at leisure.Visit the Jayachamarajendra art gallery, a former palace transformed into a gallery of paintings from the 1870s. Overnight stay at the hotel.
After breakfast drive to Somnathpur 35 kms east is famous for its 13th century Hoysala Temple. The temple is in excellent condition, has frescoed exterior. Our drive continues to the ruins of Srirangapatnam, historical town of Tipu Sultan in the 18th century. In the afternoon, visit the extravagant Maharaja palace and stroll through the flower and vegetable market. Overnight stay.
After breakfast dive to Kabini. Arrive Kabini in the noon and visit Nagarhole national park, with plenty of opportunities for wildlife viewing. This 643 sq. km wildlife sanctuary is in an isolated pocket of the Coorg region.
Drive to Kabini reservoir adjacent to Nagarhole national park. A small motor boat ride on the tranquil waters of the Kabini River, an opportunity to observe a wide variety of fauna and wildlife, many birds and perhaps large mammals (elephants, bison, deer). Overnight stay.
Early in the morning, take a jeep safari with a naturalist guide to the park's fauna: tigers, elephants, gaurs (Indian bison), leopards, deer and a wide variety of birds. In the warm hours, enjoy your pool or jacuzzi, or a massage at the Ayurvedic care centre. Other unusual activities are on site: elephant ride or bamboo raft (to be paid on site). Overnight stay.
After breakfast drive to Coorg, it is the ideal starting point for beautiful walks. Coorg is in the heart of coffee and spice plantations. Overnight stay.
After breakfast, excursion to the Dubare elephant camp to attend and participate in various activities: grooming of elephants, distribution of meals and demonstration of training orders. Take a walk in the plantations. Overnight stay.
After breakfast drive to Kasaragod, en route stop at Bekal fort, built in 1650 is the largest fort in Kerala, situated at Bekal village in Kasaragod district. Later our drive continues to Kasaragod. Upon arrival, check into the hotel. Overnight stay.
Today you can do some activities in one of the hotels: yoga, massages. You can rent a bike to visit to the fishing villages along the coast or coconut palms or visit temples. You can go for hiking too. Overnight stay.
After breakfast drive to the small town of Tellichery located by the sea. A walk in its spice market where wholesalers offer at unbeatable prices the most fragrant scents. Visit factory of the famous cigarettes "beedis", and a workshop of weaving. In the evening, you can enjoy the ritual dance of Kerala, Theyyam.
After breakfast drive to Kozhikode, en route visit Mahe, former French trading post from 1721 to 1954, where the pepper and spice trade flourished. Visit the church of Santa Theresa and stroll in the fish market. Our drive continues to Calicut, now called Kozhikode. Visit the Museum art gallery which presents the works of one of the most famous Indian painters, Raja Ravi Varma. See the overview of the exterior of the temple of Tali. Later transfer to the airport for your return flight for onward destination.
