Sikkim Jeep Safari Tour includes the visit to Gangtok - the capital town of Sikkim, visit to Buddhist monasteries of Rumtek and Enchey. In this jeep safari we would travel to newly opened area in North Sikkim to Lachung and Yumthang valleys. The jeep safari tour will take us through the deep green valleys and ethnic villages of Sikkim, rivers, water falls, blooming rhododendron forests and snow capped Himalayan peaks

New Delhi

Aroundmidnight arrival in New Delhi. The cosmopolitan city and capital Delhi is themain gateway for travelers. Upon arrival, you will be met by an Indo Vacationsrepresentative and transferred to the hotel.

New Delhi - Bagdogra by air – Pemayangtse

Inthe morning we drive to the airport for the flight to Bagdogra. After thearrival in Bagdogra we drive through the forests and tea gardens and proceed toour today's destination Pemayangtse (The perfect Sublime Lotus) in Sikkim.Sikkim is the second smallest state in India. Sikkim, in the East Himalayas issandwiched between Nepal to its west and Bhutan to its east. Sikkim has so richof flora, fauna and a diverse ethnic and cultural population as no other statein India. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in Pemayangtse. Inthe evening we visit the headquarter of the Nyingama sect in Pemayangtse.

Pemayangtse – Ravangla

Todayafter having breakfast we drive further to Kechopari Lake. Kechopari means thewishing lake. The water in this lake is placid and crystal clear. This lake issituated on the road to Ravangla. After visiting the lake we drive to Ravangla.Enroute visit Tashiding Monastery. This monastery belongs to Nyingmapa orderand is nestled on the top of a hill that looms up between the Rathong river andthe Rangit river. After visiting this monastery we drive further to Ravangla.In the evening arrive in Ravangla.

Ravangla – Gangtok

Todaywe drive from Ravangla to Gangtok through terraced tea gardens and coniferousforests. The capital of Sikkim "Gangtok" lies on a ridge overlookingthe Ranipool river. Gangtok ("High Hill") lies at an altitude of 1760m. Gangtok is surrounded by the mountains, especially from Kanchenjunga range.Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the hotel in Gangtok.


Themain attraction of our excursion remains today the monastery of Rumtek. Rumtekmonastery was built as a true copy of a tibetan monastery in recent years.Rumtek is the headquarter of Red hat sect of tibetan lamaistic Buddhism. Aftervisiting the monastery we visit the institute of cottage industries. Wide rangeof local handicrafts in Lepcha style are produced here. In the evening we visitthe unique Research Institute of Tibetology on a hilltop which was establishedin 1958 to promote research on Tibet and Mahayana Buddhism. Here we will seethe biggest collection of tibetan scripts and an excellent collection of rareTankhas, bronze and cult objects.


Todaywe visit Tsuk-la-Khang, the royal chapel which is standing on a high bridge.This is the major place of worship and has a large and impressive collection ofscriptures. We also visit Orchid Sanctuary which is laying south of theinstitute. This sanctuary contains over 450 indigenous species. Sikkim isconsidered paradise for orchid lovers. After the visit of sanctuary we walkthrough the bazaar of Gangtok through the area of old palace and visit themonastery Gylwa.

Gangtok – Lachung

Todaywe start our jeep safari excursion and proceed in the north of the statethrough the coniferous forests and terraced tea gardens to Lachung (2700 m).Upon arrival in Lachung you will be transferred to the hotel in Lachung.
