| Day 01 Chennai |
Arrive Chennai. Half day city Tour of Chennai. Visit the National
Art Gallery, Museum, which has some beautiful temple friezes and South
Indian bronzes & the Cathedral of San Thome. Later visit to the Mylapore
Temple, Marina Beach & Famous Golden Beach. Overnight stay at Hotel.

Day return excursion to the famous Seven Pagodas city
Mahabalipuram. Later drive to Kanchipuram, the biggest manufacturing city of
Silk Sarees, & Hand woven cottons. Visiting the famous Temples of
Kanchipuram. Drive to Chennai. Overnight Stay.

Morning fly to Bangalore & later proceed for Mysore by road.
Enroute visit Shirangapatnam- the 18th century Summer palace of Tipu Sultan
& Somnathpur Temple, a splendid example of Hoyasala. Overnight stay.
Morning city sightseeing tour, including the Palace of the Maharaja
of Mysore, which is lavishly decorated in a mixture of styles. Also visit
the Zoological Garden, Mysore Arts & Crafts Centre and then proceed to
the Chamundi Temple on a hill high above the city. Evening visit the Devraja
flower market. Overnight stay.

Depart for Ooty, situated in the heart of the Nilgiris (Blue
Mountains). Lofty hills add to the grandeur of the scenery. Visit the
terraced Botanical Gardens, which are a landmark in Ooty, have many rare
trees and flowering plants. Overnight stay.

Depart for Cochin. Sightseeing includes Jewish synagogue which
contains beautiful Belgian glass chandeliers and is paved with hand painted
tiles from China. Visit the Dutch Palace with its wonderful murals depicting
the entire story of the Ramayana on its walls. See St. Francis Church- the
first European church built in India.
Afternoon visit the
Backwaters
of Cochin visiting the Bolghatty Palace the beautiful dutch colonial
mansion. We will pass islands with their traditional fishing hamlets and the
fisher flock in their colorful costumes.

Depart for Munnar. Munnar is responsible for a good portion of
South India's tea production. " Unexplored region, covered by thick,
beaver-haunted forests, the abode of elephants, tigers, bison and leopards".
Visits includes: The Kundale Tea Plantation, Eravikulam Wildlife Sanctuary,
Rajamalai Park and the high range club. Overnight stay.

Depart for Periyar.
Boat Cruise in the Periyar Lake
in the cool surroundings and the panorama spreads around- tropical jungles,
wild elephants, Indian gaur, monkeys, spotted deer, barking deer, wild bear
and birds of myriads varieties. Overnight stay.

Depart for Hampi. Hampi known as Vijayanagar. Places to visit are
Queens Bath, Vijaya Bhavan, Stone Trough, Hazararama Temple, Zenana
Enclosure, Elephants Stables, Pattabirama Temple, Narasimha Image etc.

Drive to Badami. Badami formerly known as Vatapi, Badami was the
second Capital of the Chalukyas, founded by Pulakesin I, around 550 A.D. It
is noted for several temples of an early period. Some of these are
structural and the others rock cut. There are four rock cut caves or temples
of rare sculptural excellence. Of the structural temples at Badami the
Mahakuteswara and Naganath Shivalaya are worth visiting. Also visit the four
Badami Caves, Badami Forts, Banashankari Temple, Mahakut, Shivyoga Temple
etc. Overnight stay.
