Your experience on the Royal Orient will be unique &
unforgettable; in a luxurious setting with personalized service from
liveried attendants. There are 13 coaches & saloons, inspired from the
mighty kingdoms. The train is fitted with all the modern conveniences you
would accept in a first class hotel. Air conditioned, ambience keeps the
temperature down to 15 degrees. Every cabin is clean, comfortable &
furnished tastefully. The cabin have spacious baths attached to them,
equipped with running hot & cold water. There are multi cuisine
restaurants to tackle your taste buds, as well a bar - all drinks are
available. There's even a library on the Royal Orient if you are looking for
a quite laid back time.
The Royal Orient takes you on a journey
through two of India's most culturally fascinating states, Gujarat &
Rajasthan, the train leaves from Delhi Cantonment Station on every Wednesday
of 1st Week of September onwards.

on the luxurious, ambience aboard The Royal Orient while you embark your
memorable journey through one of World's oldest civilization, its mystic
cultures & colorful customs will overwhelm you and transport you into a

Arr. 0530 hrs. Dep. 1750 hrs
Arrive
Chittaur early morning and visit to Pride city of Rajputs. You will visit
the Chittaugarh Fort built in the 7th Century, sprawling over 700 acres. The
Nine-storey watch tower, the 12th Century tower of fame & sculptures of
the Jain Pantheon. Also visit Meera & Kumbha Shyam Temple - a temple
dedicated to the mystic poetess Meera Bai and temple of Kalika Mata
dedicated to Kali, the fiery goddess of power. The Jaimal & the Patta
Palaces. Breakfast on board. You will visit Udaipur - the lake city. sight
seeing of Udaipur includes Sahelion-ki-Bari (The fountained and flowered
garden of Maidens), Partap Smarak : A memorial to the legendary warrior Rana
Pratap, City Palace, Bhartiya Lok Mandal Museum. Dinner on board. Depart for
Ahemdabad.

Arrive
Ahmedabad, the capital of the state and one of the most colorful and
exciting destinations in India. Visit the Jumma Masjid, built in 1423,
described as the most beautiful mosques in the East and the Siddi Sayyad
Mosque (1571) with its exquisite windows of pierced stone tracery, an
architectural delight. Visit the Rani Roopmati Mosque, the Sarkhej Rauza and
the Hateesingh Jain Temple built in pure white marble.
The famous Sun
Temple stands on a lotus. Built in 1026 AD, the sun temple at Modhera is one
such rare edifice of the Solanki era.
Patan once saw the rise and fall
of the great Solanki Rajput dynasty. It is the home of the famous Patola
silk sarees. The greatest reminder of the golden period of Gujarat under the
Solanki kings is the queen's step well,
Raniki Vav, the oldest and
grandest step well of all the 120 step wells built in Gujarat in 1050 AD.
Each step is a procession of marvelous sculptures; layer after layer created
by the master craftsmen of the bygone era at the height of their creativity.

Upon
Arrival visit to Sasan Gir Forest - one of the most important wildlife
sanctuaries in India,Today there are 312 lions in Gir. It also harbours a
variety of animals and birds i.e.Panthers, hyena, Indian Sambar, Chital
(spotted deer), Nilgai, Chinkara and the rare Chowsingha (four horned
antelope).
A crocodile farm has also been developed in Gir, which
is one of the few remaining forests that comprise divergent habitats. With
open scrub areas, dry deciduous and tropical thorn forests, and an evergreen
corridor along the riversides, Gir will truly take your breath away. Also
visit Ahmedpur Mandvi - beautiful virgin beach. Across, Ahmedpur Mandvi is
the island of Diu, - one of the country's finest beaches. Another popular
place to visit is the Fort of Diu- an imposing statement of power. It was
built over six years from 1535 AD, following a defence alliance between
Bahadur Shah, the Sultan of Gujarat and the Portuguese when the former was
attacked by Humayun, the Mughal emperor. Dinner on board. Depart for
Palitana.
Arr. 0745 hrs. Dep. 2000hrs.Arrive Palitana, known
as the temple city. It is probably India's most picturesque pilgrim centre
of the Jain faith with more than 863 temples built over a period of 900
years. At Sarkhej, you will visit a village that still lives in the medieval
age. With every tradition, every custom kept intact. You will enjoy the
medieval folk art and visit the utensils museum, a repository of medieval
lifestyle in the region. Dinner on board. Depart for Udaipur.
Arr. 0715 hrs. Dep. 2000 hrs.Upon arrival at
Udaipur a day return excursion to Ranakpur located 96 kms from Udaipur, one
of one of the five main holy places of the Jains. These 500 year old temples
are well preserved till date in almost perfect condition. There are 29
halls, 80 domes, 1444 pillars with intricate carvings The graceful pillars
and the domes of different heights with flat ceiling combine to produce an
excellent effect. Dinner on board. Depart for Jaipur.
Arr. 0750 hrs. Dep. 2155 hrsUpon arrival at Jaipur
- the pink city, visit to the 17th century fotress of Amber, whose hilltop
location is ascended on Caparisoned Elephant to view various palaces with
rooms of stunning beauty including the world's finest chamber of mirrors and
temple of Kali. Also visit to Maharaja's Palace, observatory, Birla White
Marble temple and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). Dinner on board. Depart for
Delhi.
| Day 08: Reluctant Wednesday |
Arr. 0700 hrs.Arrive Delhi Cantonment Railway
Station and say goodbye to Royal Orient and let the memorable experience of
the past week linger on for a long, long time.
