Cochin – Munnar – Periyar – Alleppey – Kumarakom - Kovalam – Kanyakumari

Day by Day Itinerary

DAY 01 Arrive Cochin

Arrive Cochin meet and greet at airport transfer to hotel. Kochi is the only place in the country where you can see Portuguese Today visit to Churches, a Jewish Synagogue, Hindu Temples, and Dutch Architecture & Mosque nearly side by side. Late afternoon a memorable experience in any journey in Kerala is a Boat Trip along the Palm Fringed Lakes & Backwaters of the Area; we enjoy this extraordinary excursion today. As we sail along the shady canals we see cantilevered Chinese fishing nets. From our launch, we enjoy use of narrow produced –Laden dugouts & the everyday life of families living on narrow spits of land between the waters. This evening we attend the performance of the Kathakali, one of India’s most famous Classical dances. Lavish Costumes & Exotic makeup & Masks intensify the beauty of the dancers, intricate moments. Overnight stay.

Day 02 Cochin – Munnar 130 kms / 2 Hrs

After breakfast drive to Munnar. Upon arrival check in hotel. Munnar – is situated at the confluence of three mountains streams – Mudrapuzha, Nallathanni & Kundala. Munnar is a famous tea plantation, picture book towns, winding lanes and holiday facilities make this a popular hill station. Later visit to Matt petty – 13 kms away from Munnar, situated at a height of 1700m. It is famous for its highly specialized Dairy Farm – the indo Swiss livestock project. Over a hundred verities of high yielding cattle’s are reared here. Visitors are allowed to 3 of the 11 cattle shades at the farm. Overnight stay at the Hotel. Visit to Mattupetty Lake & dam which is just a short distance from the farm, is a very beautiful picnic spot. This sprawling Kundala tea plantations and the Kundala Lake are the other attraction in the vicinity. Overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 03 Munnar - Periyar 110 kms / 2 Hrs

Drive to a tranquil hill retreat, the Spicy Village. Along the way we pass through Tea, Cinnamon, Clove & Cardamom plantations –beautiful to see & smell! Our hotel is set in a Spicy Garden & has been molded after the Tribal dwellings of the area; each Cottage has thatched roof & a deep, Airy Verandah.
This evening we visit the nearby Periyar Game Sanctuary; Game viewing here is like no other Safari experience. We simply relax in a Motor Launch & sail along as heard of Elephant & Bison come into view. During the dry season Tigers & Panthers come down to the Lake shore for a drink – be sure to have plenty of film on hand. Overnight stay.

Day 04 Periyar – Alleppey House Boat 64 kms / 2 Hrs

After breakfast transfer to Alleppey from house boat via most beautiful places of Kerala. to meet your way own floating hotel in the famous backwaters. Ketuvallam (An Authentic Kerala Houseboat) - the moving master piece, have been plying the inland waterways of southwest India for untold centuries and originally used as cargo rice boats. The fully furnished and palm covered boats (single & double) bedrooms with attached bath, sit out, kitchen and living room made of traditional wood. In each houseboat, there are 3 men staff (crew), comprising a cook and two well trained punters throughout the cruise. Punters stand on each end of the boat for punting and directing the boat. Kerosene-lit lamps along will be available for light and mosquito nets will be provided. Traditional vegetarian and non-vegetarian Kerala cuisines are served. A journey through the backwaters of Kerala which offer one of the world’s truly unforgettable experiences, myriad network of silent lagoons, freshwater river, and hyacinth covered canals that wind their way through colorful corridors of forests, palms and fruit trees. A canoe expedition via an intricate network of canals, through backwater villages where daily continues unaltered, as it has for centuries. You will see lush palm groves and stretches of rice fields. Overnight in House Boat.

Day 05 Alleppey - Kovalam (175 kms) 4 hrs

Today drive to Kovalam – an uncluttered beach of silvery send fringed with rows of tall palms, a sheltered bay, a wide choice of water sports. Kovalam is a perfect beach for a sea side holiday. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 06 Kovalam - Kanyakumari – Kovalam 74 kms / 1 ½ Hrs

Morning drive to Trivandrum for first half-day Sightseeing visit to Padmanabha Swamy Temple, Napier Museum, Sri Chitra Art Gallery & etc. From Trivandrum drive to Kanyakumari which is 88 Kms.

Sunrise & Sunset: Everyday people gather here to watch the Sunrise & Sunset. But to watch the Sunset & the Moonrise on full moon day is an experience that lives in one’s memory for life. Drive to Kovalam that is 74 Kms. Overnight stay at Kovalam.

Day 07 & 08 Rest and Relaxed at Kovalam Beach

After breakfast Rest & Relax on Beach Resort hotel. Overnight stay.

Day 09 Kovalam – Trivandrum / Cochin - Onward

After breakfast Say Goodbye to newly become friends of this fascinating land and transfer to Trivandrum / Cochin Airport to board the flight for onward destination / Home town.
