In our opinion the Don Jóao Resort is the nicest '2-jewel' hotel in Anjuna. Situated in a quiet position in the middle of Anjuna village yet close to the bars, shops, restaurants and Bohemian action that is associated with Anjuna. The Anjuna Wednesday Market is a short distance away (the best sandy beach locally), and Ingo's Saturday Nite Bazaar is an approx. 2km journey. A short walk to the right of the hotel will bring you to the Junction, always busy with something going on and then, further on, to the rocky part of Anjuna Beach. The hotel is built in a Portuguese style with large ornate balconies. There is a swimming pool where shade is provided by mango and coconut trees, plus the poolside restaurant, The Spice Garden, offers both local and international cuisine. The hotel has a 24-hour reception / TV lounge offering safety deposit boxes (payable locally).
