Day 01 Cochin:
Cochin is an ideal base to discover the rich heritage of Kerala. Once the center of the spice trade and now the principal port on the Malabar coast, Cochin's rich and varied history bears testimony to Portuguese, Dutch and British influences over the centuries. Vasco de Gama reached its shores in 1502.
After lunch a memorable experience in any journey in Kerala is a Boat Trip along the Palm Fringed Lakes & Backwaters of the Area; we enjoy this extraordinary excursion today. As we sail along the shady canals we see cantilevered Chinese fishing nets. From our launch, we enjoy use of narrow produced - Laden dugouts & the everyday life of families living on narrow spits of land between the waters. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 02 Cochin:
Discover the historic town of Cochin on a sightseeing tour. The Mattancherry Palace (closed on Friday & National Holidays), built by the Portuguese in 1557. St. Frances Church, the oldest in the region. The Jewish Synagogue (closed on Saturday and on Jewish Holidays), built in 1568, which still preserves scrolls of the Old Testament in Hebrew. The spice Market and the old Jewish Quarter are worth a visit too. Return to the hotel for Lunch.
Evening we attend the performance of the Kathakali, one of India's most famous Classical dances. Lavish Costumes & Exotic makeup & Masks intensify the beauty of the dancers, intricate moments.

Day 03 Board on Motor Vessel Vrinda
After breakfast at 10:30 hours, guests will be transported from the hotel to the Vembanad Lake Jetty by an air-conditioned car. This 55 kms journey will take about an hour and fifteen minutes.

12:30 hrs: Guestes will board the vessel, which will sail across the Vembanad Lake and cruise along the Kumarakom shore. Lunch will served on board. The Vessel will sail along the scenic waterways for four and a half hours and return to Vembanad Lake in time to watch the sunset.
Later in the evening, you can watch a Mohinattam recital. This classical dance form, distinctive to Kerala, is also called the 'Dance of the Enchantress'. Dancers attired in beautiful traditional costumes will perform with slow, graceful movements and highly emotive expressions. Motor Vessel Vrinda will anchor for the night at the Vembanad Lake jetty. Enjoy dinner on board.

Day 04 On board Motor Vessel Vrinda
At 08:00 hrs: Motor Vessel Vrinda will sail from Vembanad Lake jetty and head South, towards Alleppey. Breakfast will served on board. The Vessel will enter the waterways of the Pamba river through the Alleppey canal. Sailing through scenic backwaters, guests can observe life along these "water highways" while passing through one of the few areas in the world where farming is done below sea level.

The vessel will anchor near Kanjippadam and guest will be transferred to a traditional rice boat to navigate through the narrower sections of the backwater. For the next 3 hours, guests will observe and experience a way of life unique to this region.
This section of the cruise includes visits to the half-statue of Lord Buddha at Karumadi and St. Mary's Church at Chambakulam established by St. Thomas in 1721. You will also explore the boat yard, which displays the traditional long snake boats used in races.
Later in the day, guests will return to Motor Vessel Vrinda where lunch will be served as the boat passes through picturesque stretches of the backwaters on way back to Alleppey, known as the "Venice of the East".
Motor Vessel Vrinda will anchor for the night at the Vembanad lake jetty Dinner on board.

Day 05 Return to Cochin
At 07:30 hours, Motor Vessel Vrinda will sail along the main waterway channel on the Vembanad Lake. Breakfast will be served on board following which the vessel will return to the Vembanad Lake jetty. Guests will check out at 10:00 hrs. and will transported by air-conditioned car to the hotel.
